laines charity demo day update

unfortunately i woke up Sunday with a stinking cold so i was not at 100 % Thank fully family and friends rallied round to help with all the final preparations on the day.

The cards for the competition were judged by independent judges for design -verse - and pertaining to the theme of the competition.unfortunately everyone cannot win and it was a very hard task for the judges to choose from all the cards entered. All the cards were made to a very high standard there is a lot of talented people out there. All the cards were bought at the start of the day as were some of the cards that people had donated to sell for our charity.Raising money for our charity in a fun ,non competitive way is what it is all about .We had hoped to post the winning cards on our website but the camera failed to download. So I will try to describe the winning cards -- all the cards had words pertaining to overseas.

1 - pergamano craft winter scene

2- hand made verse background with a beaded wire tree

3-red and gold gilded poinsettia

As i said previously all the cards were of a high standard and the cards that were not sold on the day also some that i have made will now be sent to the men and women serving our country overseas.

thank you to everyone who donated a card/cards and to all the people who took the time to attend on the day we have raised over £400 and still counting

I could not do any of this if it was not for family and friends who give there time and knowledge to help with demos etc. for that i am indebted --- .

thank you to everyone

Sad news today a friend passed away this week -- our thoughts are with the family

when there is a bereavement it is very difficult to find the right words to say or know what to do for the family and friends left behind -----be there when they need you -----

It made me think about my family and friends---the shop and website take up a lot of my time -- but I am always here if they need me ---

life is too short and the whole world should live in harmony

Exploding Box

I eventually finished an exploding box just in time for my goddaughters 21st birthday

I used photos of her through the years ; loads of girly embellishments

Inside the last box I positioned  polystyrene shapes -21- covered with liquid beadz

I typed a verse and glued it inside the lid

She loved it more than the hot diamonds we had bought her !
